Brine Shrimp Lied to Me

So, tell me, did you get captivated by the ads on the back of comic books when you were growing up? I did. (I know, that explains a lot!) I always wanted to send for the seeds and the X-ray vision glasses, but what really sent my heart soaring were the ads for a little family of monkeys. Now, I know I’m not using their proper name, but since they are still in business, I’ve chosen not to mess with the whole trademark thing…you’ll just have to read between the lines. The ad portrayed these engaging creatures, drawn by an illustrator obviously gifted at embellishment, as a happy family. I think the girl in the family even had a tiara! I thought that if I sent for them they would move in, take up a corner of my bedroom and fill my life filled with one happy family adventure after another. So, I did what I had to do to save up the money to send for the lovely monkey family. I did more chores, ran a lemonade stand, I scrimped and saved until that glorious day when I would mail my money in (stamps not accepted of course.) My payment would prompt someone in… maybe New Jersey… to send me my very own monkey family, complete with the girl who wore a tiara. The days passed slowly until the package arrived. With great anticipation I opened the small packet and followed the instructions to put my new family in water and watch them grow. I already was starting to wonder if you could grow such a large family of pets just from what looked like dust speckles, but who was I to question the magic on the back of a comic book? I watched the water and waited for the transformation. What appeared to be small pieces of lint soon came to life. What?
That’s it? That’s what I worked so hard for and wished for and waited for? Floating lint?

The point of all this is…brine shrimp lied to me. Many ads have probably left you feeling less than satisfied with what you were promised. I think that if you try Remifemin, you’ll find that it does what it promises. Keep coming to the blog and adding your comments. I’ll never lie to you.

Anyone else out there send for monkey families or prizes from the back of comic books?
Let’s chat!

Hi Cynthia! Oh! I forgot about the earrings...that was a good one too, but I don't think I attempted to get that one because I figured my Mom would kill me if she saw me with pierced ears, never mind that everyone else was doing it with the old potato and Ice pick up in their bedroom! (So, if someone jumps off a bridge would you jump off a bridge too...remember that??)
I'm so glad Remefimin is back in your routine and working for you. Keep taking it and keep blogging with us...fun to hear from you!

    Jo-Anne!
You made my day when I read your story...how true...and so bittersweet to think of him sitting there with such great expecatation waiting for his tank to arrive! And in those days, if you told your parents what happened, they would pretty much just brush it off or said you learned a lesson...no bombarding the manufacturer with letters or emails about how their child was ripped off! What a great story..thanks for sharing...keep those great stories coming!

Ladies, my sister who is younger than me, is having a bad episode of Early Menopause, as it is today, she is depressed, feels that he is aging by the minute, he is anxious, says that every bone or muscle in her body is hurting. I want to put together a "basket of products" and overnight it to her together with a book or two. May I get some recommendations as far as vitamins or suplements that will make her feel better, and some reading material? She is also on a tight budget, she does not have any vitamins at the house, she says she needs vitamin E, is that all I should get?

    Hi Pam!
You asked about taking Remifemin with pain meds. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist...always a good idea...here's an answer from our Remifemin website....
Can I take Remifemin® with other drugs? With HRT (hormonal replacement therapy)?
Although no adverse drug interactions have been reported to date, we recommend that, as with any dietary supplement, if you are taking any prescription drug or any other over-the-counter product, please check with your doctor or pharmacist first before using Remifemin. Your doctor or pharmacist is the best person to advise you based on your medical history and present state of health. Remifemin is not meant to replace hormonal drug therapy, although there are no known contraindications to taking them together.
Remifemin has been great for me and I hope you get to discover how great it can be too! Take care and keep us posted!
