It's true.
No matter how much you think about, prepare for, or anticipate perimenopause and menopause, you're never quite prepared for what it's really like.
If you aren't there, you may not agree with me.
If you are there, you're nodding your head "YES!" right now!
My 5 miles hike to the M*A*S*H site, in bad mud and hills...I did it...and you should "go for it" too!
Some things to remember:
This is tough, but it is normal and you are not alone. I can't tell you how many women write me afraid that they are losing it or thinking what they are going through is unusual.
Menopause is a term we throw around, but you are in perimenopause until you have not had a period for one full year. You'll find your period will probably get sporadic before that happens, but the one year mark is the change from perimenopause to menopause.
Remifemin is worth exploring! Read the FAQ's, the testimonials and the resources at http://www.remifemin.com/ There's a lot of good info there that can really help you. If you haven't already, get a free sample and sign up for my memos.
Use this time which can feel like a hardship to examine what you do and don't want in your life.
Emotions can be raw, so use them to move your forward instead of bringing you down.
Be good to yourself! That's so important!
Try to be healthy with eating and exercise, but then sometimes, just except yourself and stop the negative talk. We aren't going to be in our 20's again, and we shouldn't expect to be.
I'm here for you, but talk to your doctor. I can't answer medical questions, but I can attest to how helpful Remifemin and Remifemin Good Night are, and make you aware of this safe, natural way to deal with all of this!
Start blogging! This blog can be a real support to you too...get your friends involved.
What have you accomplished that you can tell us about?
Let's talk!

HI Kim,
I hear the frustration in your voice...and I want to encourage you to stick with your Remifemin for at least 12 weeks. Read the FAQs at www.remifmein.com and the testimonials to see what Remifemin has done for so many women. A lot of women are confused, thinking we can use a natural product just a short time or when we feel something when that's really not the case. Remifemin works by using it consistently over time. I hope that helps, and remember to be very good to yourself. Watch your caffeine, wear cool clothing, and do heatlhy things like eating correctly and getting some exercise. Let us know how you are doing over time!

I just turned 41 in May and had a few hot flashes. But in the past two months they have been unbelievable. My moods were driving me bonkers. A very good friend recommended this to me and I have just been on it a few days...I am so ready for them to work. I just found out about the night version of it but cannot find it anywhere .I dont like to purchase things online so if you could tell me places that sell it, I would appreciate it very much..How I wish four weeks were up...lol

I need some encouragement. I've been using an herbal blend called Menopautonic. I take two in the morning and two in the evening. I was still having problems with hot flashes and the folks that make the herbal mixture recommended Remifemin. I have been using it am and pm for about 6 weeks. My symptoms have great decreased. I am still awakened a few times at night, I'm looking forward to trying the nighttime remifemin. I need advice on mood swings. My family says I don't smile anymore and I find myself wanting to avoid people and want to be left alone. I have to push myself to interact and then I'm fine. I feel like I want to hide in a cave. That's just not like me. Any suggestions?

HI Gaelle,
Thanks for blogging and I hope I can give you some encouragement. First of all, clinical studies showed the best results with Remifemin between 8-12 weeks...so keep going. You can take more, read about that in the FAQs at www.remifemin.com
Don't be afraid to work with your doctor about your concerns...make sure you know all of your options.
One of the best things I can tell you is, this is hard and you need to be good to yourself. That means the self talk...no beating yourself up about how you measure up...maybe you have to make an effort to do some nice things for yourself. Have you taken the time to read a good book? Go to a movie? Get a massage? This is the time to really stop and smell the roses and take one moment at a time...it may sound simple, but it's really important to take care of yourself right now.
I hope that helps! Keep blogging too!

I understand from coming across a few articles that Black Cohosh can have some pretty adverse effects on your auto-immune system attacking your liver, leading to hepititis, etc.
Are there any other effectively safe alternatives?

Hi Lee,
Thanks for your question!
The diference is: Remifemin is not just any black cohosh...it's unique.
Please read this explanation and see if you woud like to try Remifemin, a clinically studied, safe way to deal with menopause!
Thank you for contacting us with your concerns about Remifemin. Our team of medical experts is constantly scanning recent news and research for any information that may pertain to the safety and efficacy of our products. We are aware of the latest black cohosh-liver concerns sweeping the news headlines.
Based on the long history of safe and successful use of black cohosh and the multiple, controlled clinical studies which have established the herb’s safety, we believe that liver damage risks are minimal. Individuals have reported occasional gastrointestinal discomfort following supplementation with the standard 40 mg dosage, and overdosing has been associated with certain adverse effects, including vertigo, headache, nausea, vomiting, impaired vision, and impaired circulation. However, liver failure, liver damage, and liver toxicity are not reported adverse reactions in any of the monographs or studies we’ve reviewed.
In addition, one study specifically examined the effects of Remifemin on liver enzyme concentration and found NO alterations following supplementation. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial revealed that Remifemin does not elevate liver enzyme activity in peripheral blood [Osmers, 2005]. When compared to placebo, there was no statistically significant difference in liver enzyme activity. The maximum increase in liver enzyme activity and the posttreatment ranges for aspartate amino transferase, alamine amino transferase, and gamma-glutamyl transferase were similar for both the placebo and Remifemin groups.
HOpe that sets the record straight!

I have a question about breast tenederness. I know that close to my monthly I start getting sore, but I don't know what there is out there to help me with the soreness or if Remifemin has something to help. I am 41yrs old & I am sure I am pre-menopause, please let me know if there is something I can do. Thank you, Bobbie

HI Bobbie,
Yes, black cohosh has been traditionally used to address breast pain/inflammation. However, there are no studies that have confirmed this specific benefit. Remifemin was studied to address hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and occasional sleeplessness.
YOu can try it and see if it helps you with breast tenderness as well!

HI!
The only known side effect of Remifemin is a slight upset stomach that usually goes away if you get it at all. I have a senstive stomach and have no problem with Remifemin. You can check with your doctor or pharmacists, but there's nothing in it to cause you problems. Take good care of yourself and check with your doctor to see if they have any concerns. Thanks for blogging!

Hi
I am 42 .I have suffered with awful pms symptoms for years. I'm not sure if I am perimenopause or not. I still have regular periods.
But I do know I am at my wits end. I have tried prescription drugs for pms but I always have very bad dreams. I am not normally a hurtful person but right before I start I am not a nice person. I say things that afterwards I wish I wouldn't have I just seem to explode over the smallest things and feel very very bad for acting that way.I just want to be left alone don't want anyone to talk to me cause I'm not sure what I might say that normally I wouldn't.its like my head is just spinning during this time and it last for about a week alone with the night sweets that are getting worse and the not sleeping.I sometimes think I am losing my mind and wish I would so they would just put me away.lol but as soon as I start my period I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders!
This is unusual for me to talk about .belive it or not I am reaaly most of the time a very quiet person . But I just need to know am I the only one to feel this way!!do you think remifemin can help me or do I need to make a reservation at the nut house!?

Hi Pam,
I know you're OK because you're saying really healthy things with a sense of humor...because it is hard...and you do feel helpless and hopeless at times. I have been where you are. So, you need to do what you can. I recommend Remifemin and Remifemin Good Night to help with the symptoms...it's natural and takes time to build up and get results... 8- 12 weeks, but it's something you can do that's not going to hurt you. I would encourage you to encourage that sense of humor...because we really do need it. Do things like venting in a blog...find a friend who is in your same boat..and take time to have a cup of tea together...you can get through this...be good to yourself...and I really do recommend you give remifemin a try...you are not the only one who feels this way...you'd be surprised to find out many many women do! Hang in there!
